As we called out in our previous post on the TrustRadius Best Of 2023 Awards, customer feedback is a crucial piece of how Red Hat evolves and expands our work in enterprise IT, from the hybrid cloud to the edge and everything in between. We’re pleased to highlight that we’ve achieved another milestone with a peer review site partner, G2, which has recognized Red Hat as a leader for its Winter 2024 Reports!

G2 Leader Winter 2024 badge (small version)

G2’s Winter 2024 Reports provide insights and market data based on user reviews and interactions on the platform, specifically highlighting top-performing products. The reports are helpful for both buyers looking to make informed purchasing decisions and for companies, like Red Hat, aiming to understand market positioning and performance.

In Insights from G2’s Winter 2024 Reports Palmer Houchins, G2’s VP Head of Marketing, says “One thing to note is that despite our expansive report distribution, only the crème de la crème earn the honor of a Leader or High Performer badge within these reports. In fact, just 6% of software products and services listed on G2 earned that recognition this quarter -- with less than 3% securing a G2 Leader badge.”

Looking at Red Hat’s performance overall, a few top badges stand out: Easiest SetupFastest ImplementationBest Relationship and Highest User Adoption. These areas are where Red Hat’s ranking has improved the most year-over-year.

In a segment breakdown of G2’s Winter 2024 Reports, Red Hat’s Enterprise segment improved the most with Easiest Doing Business With, Easiest Setup, Best Relationship and Best Support. Mid Market rankings also improved in Best Meets Requirements and Leader.

To understand further how Red Hat has performed, we looked into Red Hat’s product category. Red Hat’s top-ranked product categories were Runtime, Application Release Orchestration, Cloud Infrastructure Automation, Configuration Management, Network Automation and Enterprise IT Management.

Impressively, out of the 15 badges for which we were eligible, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform earned at least one number 1 ranking in 12 badges: Best Meets Requirements, Best Relationship, Best Support, Best Usability, Easiest Admin, Easiest Doing Business With, Easiest Setup, Easiest to Use, Fastest Implementation, Highest User Adoption, Leader and Most Implementable. We also saw year-over-year improvement in the Highest User Adoption, Easiest Doing Business With, Leader and Easiest Setup categories.

When asked what they like best about Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, here are some of the user responses on the G2 site:

  • “It provides a user-friendly platform where we can write scripts in JSON or YAML format. We can automate our day-to-day deployment-related tasks very easily with its help. Implementation and customization are really very easy.”
  • "Red Hat Ansible is a one stop solution in the world of automation. It helps to perform automated infrastructure deployments as well as application deployments. The best part is [it’s] easy to perform setup as its agentless (It need[s] to be installed on only [the] master machine) and we can connect on 100s of nodes without any install on [worker] nodes."
  • "RedHat Ansible Automation offers a complete, practically across the board program for setting up frameworks, configure end clients, and oversee programming setups across medium to bigger organizations. It is reasonably simple to learn and execute without the requirement for broad coding experience or information."
  • "The most helpful aspects of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform is that it easily allows teams to configure systems, deploy software, and also arrange advanced team workflows that allows configuration management during the initial software provisioning. This has made it one of my most top favorite DevOps tools that is fairly easy to use for software automation that I have used during my IT career."
  • "Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform offers a comprehensive, almost all in one program for setting up systems, configure end users, and manage software configurations across medium to larger networks. It is moderately easy to learn and implement without the need for extensive coding experience or knowledge. The platform was used to help manage and update a pre-existing organization that had remote locations being managed without onsite staff. It allowed a better, more powerful means of managing user accounts, implementing new software applications, and helping with security management."

Additionally, Red Hat Enterprise Linux made strides in both High Performer and Leader year-over-over; and Red Hat OpenShift advanced in the Easiest to Use badge.
