概要:

カーネルのアップデートパッケージがRed Hat Enterprise Linuxバージョン3の現行のサポートおよびメンテナンスの一部として利用可能になりました。これは 4回目の定期アップデートです。

Linuxカーネルは、オペレーティングシステムの基本機能を処理します。

これは、Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3のカーネルの4回目の定期アップデートです。

このアップデートで導入された新しい機能には、以下のものがあります。

- S/390およびS/390xアーキテクチャでのsys_epollのサポート
- Open Sound System AC97プラグインインフラストラクチャのサポート
- PROT_GROWSDOWN/PROT_GROWSUP mprotect(2)フラグのサポート
- AMD64およびEM64Tプラットフォームに対するディスクダンプ機能の拡張

カーネルのさまざまな部分で多数のバグ修正を行いました。これらの問題を解決する現行の努力によって、Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3の信頼性とスケーラビリティは大幅に向上しました。

これらの修正が施された重要な部分には、ディスクドライバとネットワークドライバ、USBとSATAのサポート、ptrace(2)によるシングルステップ、さらにVM、 SCSI、および監査の各サブシステムなどがあります。特に、さまざまなメモリ競合状況での不適切なスワッピングおよびkswapdハングを解消するために、いくつかの重要な修正が加えられました。

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3のすべてのユーザは、本エラータで明示されているマシンアーキテクチャと構成に対応するパッケージにカーネルをアップグレードしてください。

アップデート・パッケージ:

解決法:

rpm -Fvh [filename]

[filename] は、アップデートしたいRPMのファイル名です。現在インストールされているパッケージのみ、アップグレードされます。現在いるディレクトリにインストールしたいRPM *しか* 無い場合には、 ワイルドカード (*.rpm) も使うことができます。
このアップデートは、Red Hat Network 経由でも行なえます。アップデートを適用する非常に簡便な方法です。Red hat Network をご利用になるには、以下のコマンドで、アップデートエージェントを起動してください。

up2date

このコマンドで、システムに適切なRPMをアップグレードする対話形式のプロセスを起動します。
