Red Hat North Asia launches its English based Training courses in Japan.
TOKYO, JAPAN-JULY 20, 2002-Red Hat, Inc. (Nasdaq:RHAT) today announced to launch a series of Red Hat's training courses in English from this September in Tokyo
and other cities in Japan, designed to extend the availability of the Red Hat training courses for engineers from overseas who are living in Japan. As a result
of this start, a lot of non-Japanese engineers in Japan will have the benefit of taking them with English. Red Hat, Inc. also readies English based RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer) Examination.
Red Hat plans to continue to bring English based RHCE training and certification to more cities in North Asia, providing its customers greater access where they live, work or whatever their nationalities are. IT professionals and their employers in Japan gradually bigin to recognize the value and consistency of the RHCE Program, as well as Red Hat's worldwide
commitment to provide the highest quality training and performance-based certification on Linux systems administration, open source applications and development.
The first English RH300 course in Tokyo will be hold at September 24 - 30, 2002. The other RHCE and RHD (Red Hat Developer) courses will be scheduled to be held in this fall or winter. And as an on-site training, there is already a system to hold English based courses by Red Hat Japan.
The RHCE program is gaining attention as the most established Red Hat Linux training and certification program, and the only performance-based certification for any OS. The program, which granted the first RHCEs in 1999 in Japan, tests and certifies the trainee's actual competency at Linux systems and network administration using Red Hat Linux servers on a live network.
More than 5,000 people have taken an official training course offered by Red Hat North Asia in the RHCE track. Of those people, over 2,200 have taken the RHCE Exam and 1,300 are now Red Hat Certified Engineers in North Asia region.
